After finding herself unable to realise her life-long career ambition, our founder (Nicky) meets an inspiring freelance trainer who encourages her to branch out on her own.
McCrudden Training is born, beginning life as a ‘Harry Potter’ business (operating from the cupboard under the stairs).
Our MD fits the business around a part-time job, offering short courses to local charities. Gradually, a small number of freelancers join her.
We’re proud to have the NHS join our client base.
Begin to deliver courses specific to the NHS.
Our MD decided to leave her senior management role in the NHS and focus on McCrudden Training.
We were short-listed for the Training Journal Awards and moved to our head office in Archer House Business Centre.
We win our first large scale public sector tender contract to provide training to the City of London Authority.
After numerous re-commissioning, we continue to provide their training today.
My SmartPath was launched packed with leadership skills resources for learners on our leadership training courses and management development programmes.
We started providing L&D consultancy services (link to L&D internal page) alongside our training.
Conducting training needs analysis and writing learning strategies with our clients.

My SmartPath is launched as a leadership app and virtual learning platform open to anyone.
In 2021 we were thrilled to not only be shortlisted but to be highly commended by the judges of the prestigious CIPD People Management Awards. The judges commented on our high energy, passionate and relationship-driven partnerships as well as our huge amount of customer centricity and ability to demonstrate delivering real culture change.
