Care Providers: Are your staff CQC ready?

In recent years the focus of attention on care providers has intensified and employers are facing the challenge of provide appropriate training for care workers and HR support across their business, all with limited budgets.

Eastbourne organisations Eckington HR and St Wilfrid’s Hospice are joining forces with McCrudden Training are stepping forward to offer support and advice to care homes and domiciliary care providers in and around the Eastbourne, Hailsham and Seaford area.  “The CQC have radically changed the way they assess care providers.  As part of that, assessors are not only interested in seeing an organisations training records, but they are talking directly to staff and testing their knowledge.” explains Nicky McCrudden of McCrudden Training.  “More than ever training for the care sector needs to bring about learning, not just tick a box” she adds.  Combine that with changes in HR legislation around shared parental leave and care providers have to think carefully about how they support staff whilst maintaining a safe service.”

At the event on 24 June, Eckington HR will be offering free advice on employment law to care providers, along-side information from Eastbourne’s hospice on CQC hot-topics including end-of-life care, and tips to increase learning retention from McCrudden Training.

The event, which starts with a networking lunch at 1pm, is open to any local care provider.  Attendance is free of charge, but a suggested £10 donation to the Hospice is requested.  To find out more, or book a place please click here.
